When Mr. Colin Chapman presented the new Lotus 72, he was setting the foundations for the evolution of Formula 1 racing cars. The contributions made by this car, in terms of technical innovations, where very important for this period. At first sight, the first thing that comes to our eyes, is the location of the radiators on both sides of the body, these change alone, had a very important influence in the aerodynamic design and the weight distribution; moving the front disc brakes inside the body, the relocation of the fuel tank, and the new geometry for the rear wing, created a new landmark in Formula 1 design.

The kit

This kit belongs to the Tameo WCT series (World Championships), highly detailed, considered as a Multimedia Super kit by those fans of the 1/43 scale models. Basically, it features the body, nose, engine and gear box plus the uprights in white metal, as Tameo usually supply. Its molding quality is good, nearly no flashes. The material is excellent offering no problems at the time of filing the parts.

The five PE frets are superb with profusion of details, especially regarding to the top quality cockpit parts. This becomes evident at the time of bending and gluing those parts to each other. The fit is perfect and parts are accurate to the millimeter.
