In this article I will explain step by step how to build the Tamiya Porsche 911 Turbo ‘88, without using special or complicated tricks. I will limit myself to the box parts only and use strictly basic techniques without any scratchbuilding or aftermarket parts. Doing so, I will prove that it is still possible to build a nice and realistic “out of box” model.
I tried to follow the building instructions closely, but with just one exception: I use to finish painting the bodyparts prior to assembling the rest of the kit parts. In this way, the body painting job is solved before detailing the rest of the kit, because in case it failed (which is painful enough as it is) at least you would not have wasted a lot of time in building details. So let’s take a peek at the instructions to see which parts we need to spraypaint. It turns out to be the chassis bottom, the body, the headlight surroundings and the mirrors.
