The only kit available on market of this valuable chopper in 48th scale is from Academy. Nice kit, well detailed even if to obtain an exact replica is necessary to add some improvement, most of them in the interiors. The box content allows 5 different options to build this kit, 3 dedicated to the Navy and 2 to the Marines.

All of them very interesting, especially the one representing the commemorative version with the American flag painted on the nose.

As I’m personally fascinated by any helo used for rescue missions, my choice fell on the one reproducing a bird used by Marines at Kaneohe Bay-Hawaii with his classic suit Dark Gray-Orange Glo.

Building

The first problem, choosing this version is determine the exact internal arrangement.

This specific version used for rescue differ from those used for different purpose and find pictorial reference wasn’t an easy task.
