The Walter Wolf WR1 kit from Tamiya, to date it is the only kit from this manufacturer I have never built, so I was very pleased to get hold of a copy. The kit is very well detailed with most of the parts included. I decided to try and enhance the car in various areas and these I will call out in the sections of the instruction book. The car featured is the 1978 season driven by Jody Scheckter.
For reference the colour I used was Citroen Admiral Blue, for the body, over gloss gold and Alclad II Pale Burnt Metal for the gold. All interior parts were airbrushed with High Polished Aluminium, HPA, Pale burnt Metal, this is a very pale gold for radiators, hubs and suspension ends all by Alclad II, however other paints can obviously be used.

The front suspension

I sprayed with HPA  then oversprayed with thinned semi gloss black (SGB). This method is used extensively to give a slightly worn appearance to the parts as they are built. I find it easier to spray the parts while they are still on the sprue, and repair any paint damage before final assembly.

A Tip here is to spray any parts, which will be multicoloured, i.e. suspension arms etc with Pale Burnt Metal then SGB, then remove SGB with white spirit as required. NO masking needed. I should mention that this system is only possible with Alclad II, which is impervious to white spirit.
