At the Museum is preserved the MM 7001 example, the Italian Prototype of the Tornado IDS (Strike) version. The plane wears the insignia and codes (RS 01) of the "Reparto Sperimentale di Volo" (Experimental Flight Unit) of Pratica di Mare. The color scheme is the standard NATO in Grey and Green on uppersurfaces and Aluminium lacquer on the under surfaces. Insignia are Hi Viz.

Tornado IDS, ECR and ADV at the "Goodbye F-104" air show at Pratica di Mare Italian Air Force Base near Rome - may, 29th 2004

At the Air Show for the last goodbye to Starfigher, Italian Air Force showed some Tornado of various versions, in the photos you can see:
A Tornado IDS (strike version) from 6° Stormo, armed with laser pods;

A Tornado ECR (wild weasel) from 50° Stormo, armed with HARM anti radiation missiles;

A Tornado ADV (air defense version leased from the RAF), not missile loaded, but normally operating with Sky Flash and Sidewinder AAMs;
All the planes wear the all Gray wraparound scheme in FS 36280.
