Tyrrell 004 Lucky Strike

In 1973, the South African driver Eddie Keizan competed with this Tyrrell 004 in his home Grand Prix, but without bigger success,13th place. Instead he did great results in this car in the South African F1 series, he finished in a total second place after Dave Charlton in 1973. He also raced with this car in the -74 S.A. F1 series, but then in a different livery.

This kit is a Tamiya 1:12 Tyrrell F1, with Studio 27 decals the only modifications I did were on the rear wing that had a different shape on the endplates and I added two small wings at the front of the rear wing. Also in the air intake in the nosecone I put two small ribs.

One of the best things in modelling is the researching, but finding good pictures of his car was very difficult, I only found 3 of good quality, but the detailing was done after great help from this site.

The tires are Firestone so I had to use a sandpaper to remove the Goodyear logos, then I used waterbased gloss clear on the tires. The Firestone logos are in the S27 decal kit

Then I used microset and microsol because I have never put an usual waterdecal on rubber tires,
after that I used semigloss clear, hopefully they stay in place.
