ABT Sportsline is a motor racing and auto tuning company based in Kempten im Allgäu, Germany. ABT mainly deals with Audi, and the related primary Volkswagen Group brands - Volkswagen, Škoda, and SEAT. It was clear that ABT would not be satisfied just by preparing the new Golf but they would give to the Volkswagen Golf GTI a special treatment as the king of the compacts deserve.

Golf GTI Fujimi / ScaleProduction

During a contest, and after having seen my Porsche Cayman TechArt, the owner of Scale Production proposed me to make a transkit to reproduce the GTI ABT body. After meditating over the pleasure of a new challenge, I accepted the proposal with a bit of fear. In fact, making a conversion for pleasure, is one thing, but making it destined to be marketed and to satisfy customers, means great responsibility.
This is why the masters were accomplished starting from the kit parts aiming to get a perfect fit that would be cast in resin later.
Now, I invite the reader to follow with pictures the metamorphosis of this Fujimi kit which was the base for this work. In this article, apart from showing the transkit assembly, you will be able to appreciate other details such as the installation of the AP Racing brakes, the Audi RS4 wheels and the special paint applied.
The transkit resin parts were glued to the body with CA and offered no difficulty. It’s necessary to be cautious when assembling the side bumpers adding small reinforcements inside the body.
