My enthusiasm for the F1 led me, since very young, to build my own kits but in 1/43 scale. As soon as the Japanese brand Model Factory Hiro introduced in the market the Ferrari F10, I decided to build it. I had a great deal of respect for it, since it was more complex than the kits I used to build. Painting, is the 90% of work here, and any mistake would damage my job. From the different versions available: Turkey, German, Japan, Australia and Korea, I chose this last one: ref #K-277.
This is a multimedia kit comprising resin, white metal and etched parts. As no engine detail is included, the kit assembly is much more simple. All in all, the kit is very well detailed and to scale with parts showing a good finish and nearly no flashes. The tires are excellent and high quality decals are supplied. The price is a bit expensive bearing in mind that the fit of several parts is somewhat inaccurate as I’ll show you later on.
It includes a fiber template set to cut the carbon fiber decals which covers nearly the entire model. Cutting the decals to size, looks excellent.
I started cleaning the resin parts with warm water and soap. I submerged them 24 hours in a bowl with soapy water to remove the release agent and removed the flashes to get the parts ready.
I started as the instructions indicate, joining the parts R1 and R2, their fit has to be perfect. Then followed, two white metal parts M21 and M20, the ones that will give the final shape to the body.
