Actually this airplane together with most of the Soviet fighters calls hardly no attention, however, it looks attractive to me and has a very clean design. Now, Zvezda has on sale the former version the La-5, and I hope, they soon please us with the release of the F version. This article aims at sharing with the reader the step by step construction of this model, painting and weathering, based on the pictures I took during the building. The model represents the airplane of the 2nd Lt. Kramarenko Sergey Makarovich, spring 1944, 19th IAP.

First impression the kit produced me was pleasure. Zvedza had made a great work in their incursion to this scale. Perhaps the quality is not comparable with the last news of the more well known brands, but we are speaking about a kit fully detailed comprising 110 parts with excellent fit and the weak point is the lack of details regarding ASh-82 FN engine. Though this does not mean a problem, if we compare the excellent Karaya resin engine or just as I did, we leave all the access doors closed, and the engine will not be visible, of course.

Construction

Just with the base paint, overall detailing can be appreciated. The engine is the less attractive part of the kit.

The interior was airbrushed with a black coat, first and then painted from upwards following the direction of light that would enter the cockpit using bluish grey AMT-11 from Agama.
