Both MFH kits are very well done and well match the real cars. They could be mounted OOB, but some little changes could be done to improve these kits. There are few mistakes on painting scheme and, for D50 only, I had to make modification on the body-work to get the right GP version. Since kits are almost the same, mounting process is the same for both: any difference will be underlined on the article.
Ferrari D50 #22 JM Fangio / E.Castellotti chassis 010 pole-position and 8th final result – 1956 Italian GP - MFH K049C
I began with the chassis, since it is impossible to go on if it’s not completed.
All parts of the chassis were painted with the same colour: the instructions suggest Gull Grey but I used Humbrol 165 Medium Sea Grey since it’s semigloss and better match the chassis colour the real cars had. Chassis was mounted OOB.
Next it was possible to fit the gearbox to the rear of the chassis. Instructions say to mount the shafts, axle and gearbox assembly to the chassis.
