It's evident that Trumpeter had done their best to take a place ahead of large manufacturers such as Dragon, Italeri and Tamiya, with regard to military vehicles. Not only did Trumpeter improve the quality of the kits year after year, but also manufactured good-looking models that had never been released in injected plastic. This implies a great bet on the part of this manufacturer, and an excellent news for modelers weary of seeing reissues of Sherman, Panther and others well known from the WWII.

The first Trumpeter kits were copies of moulds from other brands or own releases of very low quality. To distinguish a good kit from a bad one, just have a look at the box: white boxes date from the first epoch and need much work and time-consuming to get decent models, while grey boxes correspond to the second epoch and in general are very good quality kits that It's worth while giving a try.
