I feel it is much more difficult to write an editorial than an article on a model. There are so many ideas I would like to share with you but there is such a little space… Since readers of an editorial expect a great idea to be developed in a nutshell, the writer should feel passionate and convinced about it in order to be crystal clear and effective.

This month's topic is Modeler Site's third anniversary, a date of utmost emotional significance to me. If you are a new reader, please go back to the April 2002 editorial so as not to be repetitive. This way you will understand our history and projects better.
Editorial April 2002 > Two years on line 

From a personal standpoint, having edited Modeler Site for three years now has been the most wonderful life experience I have ever had… almost as cherished as my dear children's birth, since Modeler Site is like a son to me. And this son has grown up enough to be independent now and to have a life of his own.

All of us who read Modeler Site - including me as a fervent reader- cannot help being deeply struck by its achievements. As amazing as it may sound, they are the outcome of the joint efforts and willpower of all kinds of modelers of different cultures and different ideologies too. Thus, it is through the sustained efforts of those of us who build Modeler Site's pages with true love each and every month that it comes to life. This keenness includes encouraging modelers to produce the articles that definitely turn it into a publication rated by readers like me as one of the best and most exquisite publications in the modelers' world.

Modeler Site's present aim is clear: we do not intend to give information as The New York Times does. We aim at teaching novices to build models, asking experienced modelers to transmit their know-how to those who know less… and finally, encouraging newcomers to this activity to build models for themselves.

We want our articles not only to show beautiful models with their description but also to provide readers with the necessary "DO IT YOURSELF" information shaped up through step by step articles and a fluent communication with the authors.

There are lots of things ahead still to be done and we do strive for achieving a level to be proud of.
Last year brought winds of change for Modeler Site. The most significant one -for MS and the world of modeling in Internet as a whole- was receiving HobbyLink's support. The contribution became effective as from September 2002 and since then the quality of the articles has improved increasingly, a trend that will be followed this year too.

As I usually do every year, I sincerely thank collaborators, readers and those who have supported us: Modeler Site would not be alive without them.
Finally, I would like to share my feelings with you: Modeler Site means a lot to me and has done much for plastic modeling too. I am in debt with those who have helped me right from the outset up to now and I truly feel a lifetime is too short to show them how grateful I am.
